Here's what you need to know about
how Craniosacral Therapy works.

How does CranioSacral Therapy Work

Craniosacral Therapy focuses on the dura mater, a membrane that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. The dura mater connects the skull and the tailbone (sacrum), giving the therapy its name. The craniosacral system, which includes the dura mater, the bones to which it attaches, and the cerebrospinal fluid inside, plays a crucial role in regulating the internal environment of the brain and spinal cord, thereby impacting the overall functioning of the body.

During a craniosacral therapy session, the therapist uses light touch and subtle movements to identify areas of tension and restriction within the craniosacral system. By applying gentle pressure and holding these areas, the therapist can help to release the tension and encourage the body's natural healing process.

The therapist, following the craniosacral rhythm, enters into a state of internal interaction with the patient's body while performing an extremely environmentally friendly action. When active tension is released, tissue relaxes - muscles, fasciae, joints, bones and organs regain their normal physiological mobility. The rhythm is no longer inhibited anywhere and has the opportunity to spread freely throughout the body. This process of dysfunction relief is called "release"

The craniosacral techniques are so elegant that the patients do not feel any discomfort during the session.

There is no harsh joint repositioning, no 'clicking' of the vertebrae, much less pain. The treatment process seems to be limited to simply placing the hands on the patient's head or other parts of the body. In fact, the therapist works in a concentrated way, making very gentle and subtle, almost imperceptible to the eye, movements within the tissue, from which a powerful wave of rhythm radiates throughout the body.

During a craniosacral therapy session, the therapist works to release restrictions in the craniosacral system, allowing the body to self-correct and enhancing the functioning of the nervous system. This approach has been found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions, from newborns to adults, by addressing the root cause of the problem rather than just the symptoms. Craniosacral Therapy is a safe and natural therapy that promotes relaxation, healing, and improved well-being.
